A simple week-by-week guide that shows you exactly what to practise, for how long, and why — so you build the right habits from day one and actually enjoy playing.
Most cello teaching is built around children. The pace, the repertoire, even the way progress is measured — all of it assumes you have 12 years ahead of you before you need to sound "good."
Adult learners are different. You're busy. You're self-aware. You want to feel progress quickly and you don't want to be treated like a beginner forever. My lessons are designed around how adults actually learn — with clear goals, honest feedback, and repertoire you genuinely want to play.
— and yes, it's never too late —
Whether you've never held a cello before or you put yours down 20 years ago and it's still sitting in the hall closet, I can help you build real skill and sustain it.
I want the deepest, most personal experience.
My Private In-Person Lessons are weekly one-on-one sessions at my studio. Perfect if you live nearby, thrive on in-person energy, and want me to physically adjust your posture and bow hold as you learn.
I want flexibility without compromising on quality.
My Online Lessons are one-on-one sessions over Zoom, designed specifically for cello (not a compromise).
Perfect if you travel, work shifts, or simply don't have a great teacher near you.
I want to learn alongside other adults like me.
My small-group Workshops are 4-week focused sessions for 4–6 adult players at similar levels.
Perfect if you learn well from others and want built-in accountability and community.
I've been playing the cello for over 20 years and teaching adults specifically for the last 10. Before I taught, I spent most of my twenties convinced that "real" musicians were born, not made. It took meeting dozens of adult beginners for me to realise how wrong that is.
Most of my students thought they'd missed their chance. They hadn't. I'd love to show you what's actually possible when you're taught patiently, correctly, and at the pace your life allows.
